Hello, world!
My name is Derek King, and I'm currently a hobbyist college student trying to improve his game & web development skills. Though my original and primary focus is on the scripting side of game development, many of my creative interests fall into related areas, including (but not limited to):

┗ Education
Currently, I am a junior undergraduate student attending the University of Texas at Dallas. I'm pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in the Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication (ATEC)⧉[external site link!] (catalog.utdallas.edu) program with a concentration in Animation and Games, along with a Software Engineering minor.
I graduated from a career and technical education high school in Houston back in 2022 studying Computer Programming and Game Design (but they basically dropped the game design). During my senior year, I was able to become one of three other students in my program of study to become an Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer⧉view my certification! As I continue to expand my knowlegde, I hope to be able to earn a few more certifications under my belt in the coming years.
